1.
I sat down with my son and his
friend in the backyard and the three of us set about painting for the
afternoon. One of those quiet, summer days with birds in the feeder up in the
cherry tree, and the distant buzz of lawncare in the neighborhood.
Ahhhhhh. |

2.
It was in this headspace that a
sleeping woman flowed out of my brush. Still debating if that's arm or cleavage
;)
|
3.
Let's try a red blanket
|

4.
Let's try a red blanket with deeper
folds. Here I color her face with that red glow of a long sleep.
|

5.
Back to the blue but not for long.
Also, addressing the "cleavage" situation. Looks like I used 'crack
filler' bahahaha
|

6.
Now she's in black and I like it, even if something about it is
still bugging me. I play with light around her chin
|

7.
I finally see what's been bugging me! Her shoulder is
too dang high! So I paint over it (See?? It's JUST paint! You can always go in
a new direction! C'mon, dust off your canvas and take out your paints. Today's
the day!) Steps down off soapbox. |

8.
I'm happy with her chin, and her blanket now strikes me like a
stole and suddenly a story comes from that, that she's been ready for her date
to arrive and the night's gone on, and she fell asleep cause she 'Couldn't
Wait'.
Click on her :) |
