Pender Harbour, B.C.

July 1st, 2001 - Canada Day

We took the Langdale Ferry to the Sunshine Coast early Saturday afternoon. We arrived with enough time to visit our old friend, Ken Gustafson, in Robert's Creek. We shared a few laughs, and tried real hard to convince him to forget about cooking supper (fish keeps...doesn't it?) and come play his stand-up bass at our gig. But no go. So we reluctantly left for the hour drive to Pender Harbour. Winding highways and breathtaking scenery were all but lost on me until we found a washroom! Then I could think straight again, and I must say I cheered right up.

The gig itself was fun, and Steve had a chance to see his old friends, Ron & Marita, the owners of the Garden Bay Hotel. And even before we started playing, a man in the audience bought a copy of our CD! Said he could tell he'd like it, cause he liked our attitude! Well now! You pretty much have to like that!
