July 19 & 20, 2002
We went to
Mayne Island, B.C. to play a gig on Friday night and attend the wedding of my
best friend, Annie, on Saturday. |

(left) This is Katy Bridges, our bass player's daughter. It was great having her along for the weekend. . . she's a riot just like her Dad, David! |
|
| We had a good time Friday
night, and apparently, so did the crowd -- as evidenced in the big smiles!

![]() Thanks to Barb for taking this picture of these lovely, smiling women in front of the band. |
|
| That night, we were invited to sleep at Frank & Gisela's house, friends of our bass player, David. . . and now, friends of ours. | ![]() That's Frank & their dog, Spike, on the porch of their very funky place. |
|
| When morning came, we all said
our goodbyes only to find out the battery was dead in our van. |

Frank to the
rescue, and we were off to attend the very lovely, casual, outdoor wedding at
Lighthouse Park on the tip of the island. What a nice bunch of people! Full of families with kids and dogs, even the 4 newborns in attendance were peaceful and easy-going. A perfect summer's day for a fabulous event. We sang a set in the late afternoon and enjoyed watching people dance with the ocean in the background. Quite a great day! Congratulations, Annie & Billy! |

| What's this got
to do with Rockin' Country Blues? We had the good fortune to trade a cd for this amazing mug, made by Mayne Island Artist and all around great guy, Peter Weiss. We call him Rotten Ronnie . . . he's so homely, he's cute! |
