Just Singin' Round Songwriters Showcase

We love Just Singin' Round! We admire the amount of thought, heart, and effort that goes into each and every monthly showcase. We love that every month, the proceeds go to a different charity, and that they have raised over $75,000 to date.

We also think it's fabulous how it gives different songwriters a stage and attracts one of the most respectful and supportive listening audiences on the planet.

Yvonne McSkimming, Kim Kuzma, and Mark James Fortin are the three core organizers who brought this idea to fruition. Each a huge talent, they sing in the second set and give roof-raising performances. (This, after setting up for the evening, paying attention to details big and small, including serving up the dinner that feeds the always-full house at the Vancouver Rowing Club.)

We were delighted to be asked back to sing for this wonderful event. (We had performed here in February 2000.) On this night, we shared the stage with Rob Wilson and Garry Barnum, two very accomplished Vancouver singer/songwriters. We got up and sang our newest song, "For You to Break My Heart", to hearty applause. (Phew!) We got 4 songs altogether, so we also chose: Borderline, Uptown Blues, and Cruel Cruel World. We had a great time singing, as always! We sure appreciated all our friends who drove in from various corners of the Lower Mainland to support us. It was so nice to see John and Lynda Laird, and their niece Shylo, Mardi Wareham, Sue Turner, Marianne Grittani, Ruth Walmsley and Tim Bartoo.

We really felt blessed this night. As an added bonus/thrill, we've been asked to return for their December 2001 Just Singin' Round Showcase!! Yeeeha!!
