Harmony Arts Festival postcard

Nice lazy summer day for families and folks to hang out in the park, hear some tunes. We had a great time performing! We did a set that lasted well over an hour, pulling songs from the CD and working in some new ones. You know, sometimes it's not until you're in the middle of a song that you realize it's halfways not appropriate for the audience. Then, you're in there already, all you can do (short of stopping) is keep on going... Such was the case with this decidely family audience and a couple of our hurtin' drinkin' adulter-atin' tunes... Ah well, no use sheltering the children, I say!

Happy Harmony Arts Audience
This is a small slice of our spread-out audience. Look how happy they look!

Speaking of children, as I sang I enjoyed resting my eyes on a couple of cuties: Shawn, wrapped up like a little burrito in his blanket in the grass, and his little sister Teya, with the non-stop grin, running about and sommersaulting. They brought along their folks, Ruth & Tim, which was a treat for us, since we haven't seen these guys in about a year. We met them when they would come in to hear us play at a coffeehouse, and the last time we saw them was just before our cross country tour. It sure made our day to see them again. (We love this business for the great folks we get to meet!!)
