Songwriters'
Showcase
December 4, 2001
The Vancouver Rowing Club was packed to capacity on Tuesday, December 4th. Along with our bass player, David Bridges, we played at this month's popular showcase, made even busier than usual by the fact that it was the "Christmas" show. We had a great time singing our three songs, as usual, and we especially had a blast because all the songs we chose were brand new ones! That keeps you on your toes, lemme tell ya! We did Steve's new ones: "You Were the One" and "What Do You Want?" and my new one: "Outbound Train." We were on stage with Tim Hughes and Birgit. We were supposed to also share the stage with Sandy Scofield, but unfortunately she had to cancel. I had been looking forward to seeing Sandy because we knew each other years ago. I'm not even sure she'd remember me, but I had been looking forward to looking back with her. Another time! We did have a lovely time catching up with folks and getting to know new friends. We hope to perform at Just Singin' Round in 2002, and wish to thank Yvonne McSkimming, Kim Kuzma, and Mark James Fortin, for letting us share the stage with so much talent. I find it good for the soul. |
