Cottage, we are having F-U-N-!

We had an absolute riot
at the Cottage Bistro on Friday, August 27th!
Thank you to all those who made it out, you made it so special for us!
We had so much fun, with David Bridges on bass, Ivan Duban on drums, and Bill
Buckingham sitting in on electric guitar! We love our big fat band sound!!
More! More! There will be pics in the next day or so... We are very grateful to
our friend MJ who took so many excellent shots! Check it
out!
We enjoyed our gigs at the Roadhouse Eatery in S.Surrey on
Friday Aug.13 & Saturday Aug 21. You KNOW it's a good sign when the
waitress is dancing! Yeeeeeeeeeeeha, Kay!!

Main, and again, we thank all the folks who made it out to that! We appreciate
it! (Sorry no piccies!)
We had a great show at More Crumbs Bakery
Cafe on Sunday, August 1st. This audience was full of personality, and
we had a lot of laughs with them! We sold a few cds, met some cool folks, and
then the party continued on to the Maple Ridge Hotel's Sunday afternoon Country
Jam, where we had the pleasure of playing with a full band!

The weather was gorgeous for the Summer
Sunset Series in Stanley Park on Friday, July 30.
Held at the Vancouver Rowing Club, this is one gig we
would do again and again. . .

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
A month ago, we had our friend Paul Grant's Harley for a while,
and the whole family just LOVED it!!
With the wind in our hair and the bugs in our teeth, we rode off into a few
sunsets
until we had to (gasp!) give it back! We're just gobsmacked that within a week, a tile client of Steve's
had a 650 Yamaha for sale!
"Perfect size for you to learn on," Steve
said. YAY!!!

We played the Cottage Bistro on
Thurs July 22, and we had Ivan Duben
on drums and David Bridges
on bass, and some very dear
friends in the
audience, and basically, we were in heaven. So much so that we didn't think to
take a single pic. Ah welll....... guess ya had to be there ;-) These two guys
played so great together and it was the first time for all of us!
Funny story, some girls walked by while the guys were outside on a break, and
they asked, "Excuse me, are 'The Idiots' playing
here tonight?" Brief silence and then everyone
said, "Yep!" hehehe (There was another band down the
street...)
MAN!! We had SO much fun on the
Sunshine Coast on the weekend of July 17th!

UPCOMING SHOWS
We will perform at
Just Singin' Round Songwriters Showcase
on Tuesday, September 7th
Held at the ~beautiful~ Vancouver Rowing Club, this
magical event is not to be missed!
Here's some info:
The show will feature singer/songwriters Taylor James,
Steve Elliott & Lucie Walker, Shiloh Lindsey, Leslie Alexander, Beverley
Elliott, Mark James Fortin and Yvonne McSkimming.
Just Singin Round began in July 1998 and has raised $146,570 dollars for
46 local charities. The monthly event (the first Tuesday of every month)
presents six talented singer/songwriters performing original music from an
acoustic styling, in an intimate and interactive setting.
The featured charity, that receives 100% of the proceeds, for Sept is The Self
Help Resource Association, a non profit organization dedicated to
helping people dealing find solutions to issues in a supportive and proactive
manner.
Admission is a minimum $20.00 donation that entitles audience members to a
night of marvelous entertainment and a scrumptious dinner.
Doors for the event open at 6pm, dinner at 6:30 and show commences around 7:30.
The Vancouver Rowing Club is located at the Coal Harbour entrance to Stanley
Park #2 Stanley Park Drive.
Advance tickets can be purchased by contacting Yvonne at
ymuzak@telus.net or call 604 669 4387. The show sells out early so please if
you are interested in attending, purchase your tickets ASAP. (Once you have
requested advance tickets this reservation is considered binding and
non-refundable...so com'on down, you'll just love it!!)
We will perform a 45 minute set on Sunday September 12 at
2:15 p.m. at
Caper's Living Natually Fair!
Starting the day before, this weekend-long wellness & organic fair
will take over the parking lot of the Robson Street Caper's Store,
filling it with a diverse group of organic farmers, food producers,
vitamin and nutritional experts, etc. and of course, live music!
To date, Capers has raised more than $185,000 for local non-profit groups!
It's a family fun thing to do, with music all afternoon both days.
We really enjoyed doing this gig a couple years ago so we're
really excited to have been invited back!

Gallery in Horeshoe Bay, just
outside the city.
My magnets, which are of my original paintings, are
now selling atLilaea, just outside of Nashville Tennessee.
I'm told that they are flying off the display stand at God's Pocket, a scuba
diving resort near Port Hardy BC. YAY!!
