| Hello! We've
been on a break since November, and there really isn't any news... so I guess
I'll just tell you about our personal news... We've been writing new songs and
working hard at bringing banjo into the act... with me (Lucie) playing
it. Banjo is so much fun, I can barely put the damn thing down long enough to type this. I'm very excited about my growing skills. Guess who's my teacher? Mr. Steve himself. He's been playing for 35 years! In comparison I've been playing 35 minutes! I'm well past the stage of making your ears bleed though, thank God. Actually, I'm on the brink of performing with it... plinka plunka plinka plunka... see you out there soon... STOP THE PRESSES I've got news: On Tuesday, May 27, 2003, I got up on stage and played banjo for the first time EVER! I'm so excited that I can't sleep now. The house is quiet and I'm buzzing with possibilities. Come on, say it with me... YEEEEEEHAAAAAA!!! OH and GUESS WHAT else? We've booked a gig for September 2003. We'll keep you posted with the exact date, but thought we'd let you know that we've been invited to perform at Just Singin' Round songwriter showcase at The Vancouver Rowing Club. | Malcolm McDowell's The Barber is in video stores now:
With
Take it As it
Comes in a bar scene and The Truth is in Your Eyes in a bedroom
scene. Funny thing is, we were at the video store looking for a movie to curl
up with and saw The Barber on the shelf! Up until then, we had only seen a
working copy of the movie, and had yet to see it with our music in it! So we
rented it! It was most exciting to watch for the scenes with our tunes in them.
What a thrill. We look forward to repeating the experience with Little Boy
Blues, the independent feature with A Girl Would Have to Be a Fool and
It's Everything to Me in it. Hopefully we won't
have to rent this one, too! |
