smoky dance halls, 18-wheelers, burning love, and broken hearts

Welcome

Make yourself comfy! You can check out some tunes from our CD Straight Up while you browse the news.
It may seem like there's nothing much new, but think of it this way: every plant has to do the root work before flashing those showy flowers. . . we're definitely in the midst of a heavy root-job.
Please check back often, changes are on the wind. . .

We are happy to have recently joined the BCCMA, and look forward to being active members of this supportive musical community. Thanks so much to Reid Wright and Terry Gray for all your help in getting us started. We were selected as B.C. Country Music Association's Member Spotlight of the Week in the first week of April. We have been made to feel most welcome!

The B.C. Country Music Association's Mission:
To promote, foster and encourage the development and public appreciation of, and interest in, the British Columbia Country Music community - provincially, nationally and internationally.

What Folks are Sayin' . . .

"The bottom line is, somewhere along the line, Steve Elliott and Lucie Walker came together to make music.
I can only believe that it was meant to be."

"Straight Up is a warm, friendly, unpretentious, imminently listenable roots rock Americana album full of roadhouse jump and grab-your-partner, dim-lights, slow-dance tunes that would fit in the Broken Spoke or Ginny's Little Longhorn as well as any of the current Austin faves."

"This CD has several smash hit possibilities -- commercial, Top 40, mainstream country radio. There's every reason in the world for it to happen."

Recent Show

We performed for a good-sized film industry crowd at The Alibi Unplugged Script Reading Series on April 7th at the Sutton Place Hotel. Everyone was most gracious, and we had a great time playing our fancy tunes in fancy digs. Although unrelated to the event, we had the star-struck thrill of seeing actor William H. Macy at the Sutton about an hour before our show.

A silly aside:

I bought an overpriced throwaway Kodak camera cause I forgot my camera as usual, and proceeded to take only one photo, of Steve & David giving the finger (a new tradition at gigs...I don't know what it is about that but it makes me laugh so hard to see them doing that for a picture. And of course it delights the two of them... It looked really funny. They are standing behind a fancy podium that has a brass placard with 'The Sutton Place Hotel' on it in fancy script, in the Salon Pommard, (where the gig was).
A little later it was time to play, so I absently put the camera back on the podium and never thought of it again, and there it remains, at the Sutton, with only one incriminating photo in it.
